Coleman scores another top-five finish in ARCA RE/MAX Series

Finishes fifth in Michigan

Brooklyn, MI (June 19, 2006) – Brewco Motorsports rookie Brad Coleman scored his third top-five finish in his last four ARCA RE/MAX Series starts last weekend with a fifth-place effort in the Hantz Group 200 from Michigan International Speedway on Friday night.

Coleman was the fastest in the Thursday practice session, posting a quick time of 39.338 seconds around the 2-mile Michigan oval, equating to a top speed of 183.029 mph. Coleman and the No. 62 Brewco team led by Crew Chief Shawn Parker qualified for the race in the eighth position.

“We were loose in qualifying and tried to tighten it up for the race,” Coleman said. “We went a little too far with the adjustments and it hurt us early on, but we worked as a team to bring the car back towards the end of the race.”

The race was only interrupted twice for cautions on laps 61 and 70 and eventual race winner – NASCAR Nextel Cup driver David Stremme – lapped the entire field. The No. 62 Federated Car Care Ford team made a green flag pit stop on lap 38, and as pit stops cycled through, emerged in 28th place. Coleman fought back to the eighth position and remained there after another pit stop on lap 62. On lap 78, Coleman was in ninth, but he quickly moved through the field, making his way to fifth by lap 84 in the 100 lap race.

“We obviously wanted to do better, but we’re happy with the finish,” Coleman said. “I’m really looking forward to testing at Kansas Speedway this week and learning about the track in preparation for our next event.”

The next race for the ARCA RE/MAX Series is the Kansas Lottery $200 Grand at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas on Saturday, July 1, 2006. The event will be broadcast on SPEED at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 2nd.
