#McRig serves more than 17,000 meals in four days during FL hurricane relief

Following the damaging effects of Hurricane Ian, Brewco Marketing Group (BMG) took the #McRig to Port Charlotte, FL, to serve free meals to victims and first responders. In four days, the McRig served up more than 17,000 meals.

Volunteers bagged up a 4-piece Chicken McNugget, cheeseburger, fries, apple slices, and bottled water for every visitor, cranking out as many as 16 meals in one minute. Some arrived by foot from local neighborhoods, while others traveled several miles for their first hot meal in over a week.

BMG designed and customized the 53-foot mobile asset, which features two frying stations, grills, industry-sized freezers and refrigerators, two large-scale toasters, a frozen fry dispenser, and more. We also coordinate the trailer delivery, set-up, and take-down for each activation.

Director of Operations John Reese said the McRig has always been there in times of need, responding to several natural disasters in recent history. He said pulling off this extensive activation requires a complete team effort.

“We have a great working relationship with McDonald’s, and it’s always a blessing to partner with them during their relief efforts,” Reese said. “None of this would have been possible without our drivers and employees back home that go above and beyond to ensure the McRig is ready for the challenge.”

The McRig is the largest of BMG’s many food truck and trailer options. The mobile assets are customizable and available for short-term and long-term leases or purchases.
