Summary
In partnership with Mobile Healthcare Facilities, Brewco Health designed, fabricated, and coordinated the delivery of a custom 9-bed mobile ICU to Timor-Leste, a small island off the coast of Indonesia. The project was made possible by USAID, the U.S. Embassy in Timor-Leste, the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, and the Ministério da Saúde.
The Challenge
With the lasting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Guido Valardes National Hospital (HNGV) needed additional beds and technology to support the 25 intensive care beds on site.
The Solution
On June 24, 2022, Americans donated several million dollars to support East Timor’s health security. Brewco Health designed and fabricated a 9-bed mobile ICU and facilitated its delivery from western Kentucky to the small island off the coast of Indonesia. BMG team members ventured to Timor-Leste to train HNGV staff members on the unit, providing best practices.
